The Financial Analyst evaluates financial data, examines current events and market developments, examines financial statements, and creates financial models to predict future performance.
This analysis position is vital to help inform and support organization wide strategic decisions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Analyze business and financial data.
Create financial models based on analyses to support organizational decision making.
Develop financial plans and reports for organizational leaders.
Analyze industry trends and make recommendations based on those trends.
Evaluate capital expenditures and depreciation.
Develop automated reporting and forecasting tools for more efficient use of data.
Identify and evaluate new revenue opportunities.
Analyze and evaluate monthly variance reports and financial statements.
Create and maintain return on investment analyses.
Translate financial data into detailed presentations and easy-to-understand financial reports.
Present, as necessary, analyses to management and leadership.
Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALS
Minimum Qualifications:
(Tier I) Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field with at least 1-2 years experience.
(Tier II) Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field with at least 3-5 years experience.
(Tier III) Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field with at least 5+ years experience.
Proficient knowledge of data analysis technologies and practices.
Strong analytical and complex problem-solving skills.
Effective and clear communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficient knowledge of the operations of a Higher Education institution.
Intellectual curiosity to challenge the status-quo.
Ability to comprehensively map business process redesigns.
Ability to work in a team environment with high levels of autonomy.

Excellent knowledge of accounting and financial processes (financial close, reporting and consolidations, budgeting, etc.

Working knowledge of Microsoft office suite (particularly Excel) and accounting software (e.

Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
