Reports to the CEO for the management of the business and financial affairs of the agency, in accordance with ConnectionsPlus Healthcare + Hospice policies and procedures.
Responsible for financial and accounting processes; This includes preparing financial statements and reports, maintaining cash controls, accounts payable and accounts receivable.
*QUALIFICATIONS:*
1.
Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, business, healthcare administration, or related field, and a minimum of five years’ experience in a position with similar duties and responsibilities.
2.
Demonstrated ability in fiscal and business management preferably in a health care setting.
3.
Experience in budget preparation, general accepted accounting principles and procedures, systems development and administration.
4.
Experience with information technology systems.
We require working knowledge of common office software, and ability to use email and the internet effectively.
QuickBooks and Electronic Health Records software experience preferred.
*RESPONSIBILITIES:*
1.
Administer and monitor the financial system in order to ensure that the hospice finances are maintained in an accurate and timely manner in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (“GAAP”).
a.
Responsible for ongoing administration of the accounting system, business records and financial records.
b.
Responsible for payroll, financial recording, accounts receivable and payable and cash management.
c.
Provide financial advice and guidance to the CEO and board of directors.
d.
Participate in financial strategic planning with CEO and board of directors as well as overall agency planning and attend staff meetings and other meetings as requested.
e.
Assist with the design, preparation and adherence to financial procedures and policies.
f.
Assist CEO with research, preparation and implementation of the annual budget.
g.
Conduct financial and statistical analysis and prepare detailed financial reports and statements.
h.
Manage cash and investments consistent with agency policies, monitor accounts control and department spending, and recommend corrective action as necessary.
i.
Ensure all general ledger accounts are accurate and reconciled to control and/or source documents monthly.
j.
Prepare reports for grant agencies, government agencies, insurance companies, Medicare Cost and CMS Balance reports, and retirement plan 5500 tax return and census reports.
k.
Prepare monthly and annual financial statements which are accurate, complete, and comply with GAAP.
l.
Prepare other management reports as needed.
m.
Manage and complete payroll functions to ensure staff are paid in accurate and timely manner.
n.
Assist independent auditor with annual audit and income tax returns.
o.
Monitor patient billing and collection functions.
p.
Maintain an accurate, concise inventory of all assets.
q.
Participate in grant proposal writing and reports as needed.
2.
Perform specific assignments as directed by the Executive Director.
