Business Office

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Perform day-to-day accounting activities, to include recording financial transactions and preparing journal entries.
Work closely with HR/Payroll to prepare and record payroll journal entries timely and accurately.
Reconcile accounts to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
Maintain and update fixed asset records, including depreciation calculations and asset tracking.
Record daily credit card sales and reconcile monthly credit card statements.
Prepare and submit monthly sales tax flings.
Cross-train with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable to serve as a secondary backup on critical duties.
Assist with month-end and year-end closing.
Support the financial year-end audit.
Other accounting duties as required.

Strong attention to detail and good follow-through.
Recommend process improvements.
Develop and document procedures for performing duties of the position.
Ability to effectively manage multiple deadlines.
Work collaboratively with faculty and staff.
Education & Experience Required: A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business administration A minimum of 3 years of accounting or related experience Working knowledge Microsoft Office, including intermediate Excel skills Preferred A background with nonprofit accounting software, especially Blackbaud Financial Edge.
Experience in non-profit or fund accounting.
