Job Summary
Maintain the school’s financial records and furnishing financial data as required or requested; and contributing to the smooth and efficient operation of the school office.
Essential Duties
Maintains a complete and systematic set of records of all financial transactions of the school.
Performs such accounting and clerical duties as may be assigned by the Principal in a business like and professional manner.
Files financial records and other materials by a plan so that records may be readily available.
Obtains, gathers, and organizes financial data as needed, and puts into usable form.
Receives telephone calls, messages, and questions in a courteous, polite, helpful manner.
Orders and maintains accounting supplies as needed.
Reproduces and provides financial reports as directed by the Principal.
Attend meetings as requested by the Principal.
Keeps confidential all office information and transactions that should be handled in a professional manner.
Follows procedures as outlined in the Bedford County Guidelines for the Administration of School Activity Funds.
Performs such other duties and assumes such other responsibilities as the Principal may assign.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities Required)
Must be a high school, business, or commercial school graduate and two years of secretarial or bookkeeping experience is required.
Ability to perform secretarial/bookkeeping duties and follow state and county accounting procedures.
Ability to demonstrate satisfactory performance in typing, filing, record keeping, and office procedure.
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the School Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
