BWXT is currently seeking a Payroll Coordinator for its location in Lynchburg, VA! BWXT’s mission is to provide safe and effective nuclear solutions for national security, clean energy, environmental remediation, nuclear medicine, and space exploration.
We have manufacturing facilities, laboratories, and work sites all across the country, all of which require products and services to work efficiently and effectively.
Follow us on Twitter @BWXTech Job Description/Duties: Responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll.
Validates that hours are reported correctly and monitors payroll results for accuracy.
Transmits electronic files for ACH and check payments.
Maintains payroll records for audit, reporting, and historical purposes.
Maintains files and documentation in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices.
Coordinates payroll related accounting matters with other departments and divisions.
Develops and recommends methods or procedures for payroll processing improvements.
Assists with other related projects as needed.
Minimum Qualifications/Requirements: A minimum of a high school diploma is required.
An associate’s degree in finance, business, or closely related field is preferred.
At least two (2) years of payroll processing experience.
Willing and able to work a hybrid schedule onsite at our Lynchburg, VA location.
Work schedule includes all Mondays and Tuesday, including holidays when necessary.
Must be a U.
S.
citizen with no dual citizenship.
Additional Qualifications/Requirements: Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.
Well organized with the ability to follow standard procedures.
Ability to research discrepencies and identify the process to correct issues.
Ability to respond to payroll related inquiries.
Ability to provide clear, concise, accurate and timely written and verbal communication.
Proven team player with the ability to develop effective relationships with internal and external customers and suppliers.
Demonstrated proficiency in generating reports using MS Office applications including Word and Excel.
Experience with SAP is preferred.
The base salary range for this position in Virginia at the start of employment is expected to be between $47,000 and $71,000 per year.
However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations.
Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits.
Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment.
If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,’ unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement.
