We are looking for an experienced Multi-Franchise Automotive Controller to join the Carter Myers Automotive (CMA) accounting team.

com/cmp/Carter-Myers-Automotive Job Responsibilities: Financial Leadership and Oversight: Serve as the dealership's financial leader, reporting directly to the Corporate Controller.
Oversee all accounting operations and financial reporting, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
Analyze sales and expenses across departments to identify trends and opportunities for profitability improvement.
Prepare comprehensive financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement) that clearly represent the dealership's financial health.
Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard assets, mitigate risks, and ensure regulatory compliance.
Manage and safeguard dealership assets.
Keep the General Manager informed on key financial trends, cash flow, and budgetary needs.
Develop and maintain an effective cash management system to optimize dealership cash flow.
Strategic Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with management and other departments (sales, service, etc.
) to foster collaboration, analyze financial performance, and achieve dealership success.
Interpret and communicate complex financial information to diverse stakeholders (owners, managers, auditors, customers) in a clear and concise manner.
Assist department managers in understanding their financial reports, identifying areas for improvement, and developing action plans.
Motivate and develop the accounting team to ensure high performance and achievement of key metrics.
Respond promptly to requests for information and financial insights from various stakeholders.
Collaborate with management to implement strategies for revenue growth and cost reduction to meet or exceed budgets.
Work with staff to ensure the successful implementation of corporate financial initiatives Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA certification a plus).
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Controller, preferably in an automotive dealership environment.
Demonstrated expertise in dealership accounting principles and practices.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and analyze financial data to identify trends and opportunities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information in an understandable way to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Proven leadership and team management skills focused on motivation and development.
Proficiency in accounting software commonly used in dealerships (e.
g.
, Dealertrack, CDK Global (preferred)).
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a team.
Excellent time management and organizational skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Physical Demands: Mostly Sitting: You'll be working at a desk for the majority of the time, using a computer and reviewing financial documents.
Moderate Movement: There will be some walking around the dealership to meet with colleagues or access files.
Light Lifting: Occasionally, you might need to lift or move files or light office supplies (less than 10 pounds).
