We currently have an opening for a Staff Accountant in our Lynchburg, VA office.

PRINCIPAL OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION
This position will report to our VP/Controller and support our larger accounting function.
The Staff Accountant will ensure carrier commission payments are recorded and received accurately.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Reconcile carrier direct bill payments to client invoicing
Review direct bill receivable aging and resolve outstanding payments
Effectively communicate with analyst team members to resolve direct billing issues
Reconcile carrier statements to Scott's general ledger
Assist Controller with monthly financial reporting and Producer year-end reporting
Perform other duties as assigned
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
BA/BS degree in Accounting/related field OR equivalent combination of education and work experience
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (including Excel)
Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and impeccable attention to detail
Outstanding communication/relationship-building skills, the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and effectively prioritize
Ability to exhibit a high level of confidentiality
