The Director of Operations for Women’s Olympic Sports works in conjunction with the athletic departments Olympic Sports teams (field hockey, lacrosse, tennis, soccer, softball, swimming and volleyball) and assists with administrative duties as assigned, including travel, recruiting, P-card reconciliation, camps, event management, etc.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities 1.
Team travel: prepare itineraries, hotel accommodations, reserve buses through LU transit, travel assistance on away games, trip budget reports, conference tournament and NCAA travel planning 2.
Recruiting trips/official visits: schedule all travel arrangements as it pertains to recruiting trips, submit reports to compliance, make all travel arrangements for recruits, host money requests 3.
P-card reconciling & requisitions: maintain coaches university purchasing cards per university policy and procedures 4.
Budget planning and maintenance: assist head coaches to build and complete budget requests for both travel and operational budgets 5.
New hire checklist: assisting all new staff through the "new hire checklist" 6.
Pre-season housing 7.
Liaison for staples and procurement office for office supplies 8.
Liaison with university marketing department and printers 9.
Liaison between Sodexo and teams for all dining arrangements.
Submit requisitions for all teams who choose per diem for early arrival 10.
Game day operations assistance: assist coaching staff with any pre-game needs and work with game operations staff as needed 11.
Communicate with IT Director of Business relations on all programs project requests and needs.
Qualifications, Credentials, and Competencies Four-year college degree, with a concentration in business , and 5+ years in a management capacity.
Strong experience required.
Current certifications, licenses required/preferable.
Effective communication both verbally and in writing.
Ability to intuitively reason, analyze information and events, and apply judgment in order to solve problems of both a routine and complex nature.
Excellent computer and organizational skills.
Regularly lift 10 or fewer pounds.
Proof of a valid Virginia driver’s license, an acceptable DMV record, and liability insurance is required.
