Are you a compassionate individual seeking a meaningful way to make a difference in the lives of others? Look no further! Our hospice care TEAM is currently seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as a Hospice Volunteer.
As a volunteer, you will play an integral role in providing compassionate support and care to our patients and their families during their challenging journey.
Responsibilities of Hospice Volunteer Coordinator: Offering Companionship: Create a warm and comforting presence for our patients and their families by engaging in friendly conversations, listening attentively, and providing companionship during this difficult time.
Emotional Support: Offer empathy and provide a shoulder to lean on, acting as a pillar of emotional support for patients and their families as they navigate through the challenges and emotions associated with end-of-life care.
Household Chores: Lighten the load for patients and their families by lending a hand with household chores, such as light cleaning, meal preparation, or running errands, to ensure a comfortable environment during their stay.
IDG Meeting Attendance: Participate in Interdisciplinary Group (IDG) meetings to contribute valuable insights and perspectives on patient and family status, ensuring the best comprehensive care plan for our individuals in need.
Patient and Family Reporting: Maintain detailed records and reporting on patients and families to keep our caregiving team informed and ensure seamless communication and coordination among all parties involved.
Office Duties Assistance: Provide support to our administrative team by assisting with office duties, such as filing, data entry, or answering phone calls, helping to maintain a smooth operation and positively impacting the overall hospice care experience.
Requirements: Genuine empathy, compassion, and a willingness to offer emotional support to individuals in need.
Good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff members.
Respect for patient confidentiality and privacy.
Reliability and commitment to fulfilling assigned tasks and responsibilities.
Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment and follow instructions effectively.
Previous experience in caregiving or working with individuals in need is preferred but not required.
Flexibility in scheduling, as shifts may vary based on patient and family needs.
