The Lynchburg District has an exciting career opportunity for a collaborative leader serving as our District Program Development & PIM Engineer.
This position will provide strategic leadership and direction in the planning and development of the districts’ engineering programs.
Oversee local budgets and administrative planning.
Ensure adherence to policies, procedures, guidelines, timeframes and scheduling of major activities or deliverables.
Ensure compliance with program priorities, quality of work and VDOT agreements.
Meet statewide performance measures and objectives.
Build relationships with internal and external customers, contractors, government officials, media.
Communicate with constituents, stakeholders and employees regarding issues, concerns and complaints through personal, individual contacts, and meetings.
Oversee complex operations of Preliminary Engineering, Planning, and Investment functions within a district.
Provide strategic leadership of VDOT's transportation program.
Build partnerships with various levels of government, elected officials, non-profit and private sector groups, and employees.
Coordinate and support the district's transportation planning, systematic investment, urban and local assistance programs.
Oversee, coordinate, and support programmatic activities with the Central Office and local governments (including planning district commissions, county board of supervisors and metropolitan planning organizations) enhancing communication and coordination of transportation priorities within available funding.
This position is eligible for VDOT's Employee Referral Bonus Program.
