The University of Lynchburg, a private regional university, located in the beautiful foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in central Virginia is seeking a full-time On-Call Banquet Server to join our team.
The Production Salad/Deli reports to and is supervised by, and evaluated by the Shift Leaders and Catering Manager.
The evaluation of work performance will be ongoing and will be carried out by the Shift Leaders and Directors.
It will include the specific duties and responsibilities of this position description plus employee attitude and general working behavior.

Job Purpose: Provides service for banquets and events, and assists in other areas of Dining Services on an ‘as-needed” basis.
Specific Job Duties:
Act as a server for many different types of events.
Act as bartender as needed.
Assists with the setup and breakdown of events.
This is to include, but not limited to, set up and breakdown of facilities; laying tablecloths, setting tables with china, serving and / or bartending, and cleaning up after each function.
Conducts themselves in a professional manner while working for all events.
Assists with décor of events and seasonal themes for college space.
Provide a high level of customer service.
May be called upon to assist in other areas of dining services as needed.
Performs any other related duties as may be required.
Starting Salary:
$13 - $15 Per Hour
Schedule:
Subject to change based on events.
Physical Demands:
Lifting up to 25 lbs.
Preferred qualifications:
Previous experience in food preparation in a commercial or institutional dining operation.
Familiarity with food service sanitation requirements
Required Qualifications:
Previous experience serving customers in a restaurant or banquet setting, preferred.
Education:
One to four years education at the high school level or equivalent education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
