This ad is kind of a long shot on CL to find the right person who will enjoy and take pride in being not just a head cleaner/basic maintenance/communicator, picture taker of any problems but a carekeeper of 5 beautiful properties in Rockbridge county VA between Natural Bridge and Lexington.
Instead of working with multiple cleaners hoping to find one head cleaner that could help in more of an asst manager capacity as well.
We definitely have an average of 30+ hours a week some weeks would work more or less but this will all be scheduled so this adds some nice flexibility for quality of life or someone who has other part time work or a good fit for someone with low expenses who would enjoy the nature and properties around here.
Of course cleaning and making a lot of beds is a huge part of job, but also outdoor work cleaning grills, taking care of a pool and hot tub(s) at 2 other locations.
Trash, touch up paint, small repairs, upkeep, etc.
Of course major problems we have plumber, electrician, etc but looking for someone with experience taking care of houses not just cleaning.
And a lot can be learned too by the right person.
Must be local to Rockbridge or willing to move (we have a furnished studio and could make rent part of the pay).
We are trying to survive this economy and hoping to get approved for 3 properties to be made into event venues so there is room to grow if you are interested in event venue management.
There is room for partnership even in just 1-2 events a year if you think you have the market of people or good idea can help to make happen.
I had thought about growing hops as well or some other way to take advantage of multiple acres at multiple properties even right by creek or river for irrigation and some way to make money off this land.
This could be another avenue to partner up and make more money than we can pay for cleaning/maintenance/carekeeping.
As far as straight pay no taxes taken out, for now we can only do 20/hr (plus gas money) so you don’t have to come out of pocket for 30-50 miles you would drive going to vacation rentals or wal mart, lowes, etc.
Money is decent, I wish it could be better, but being able to manage and have pretty cool job and the perks of being able to enjoy these properties.
If you are to be trusted to carekeeper you should also be able have even friends over and enjoy pool, hot tubs, rivers, creeks, etc.
BUT must be responsible and ethical if you drink or smoke weed no worries as long as not a problem.

Cigarette smoking, not ideal, but not a deal breaker.
Hard drugs are a hard no though and will do background check and possibility of random drug tests.
Wish didn’t have to say this.
Not about judgment just the facts that hard drugs are downward spiral and we want possible long term relationship.
Resume is great but if no resume thats fine but please talk of experience, skills, age, mindset that makes this sound like good fit.
Need to be self starter a lot of alone work when we are slower so you can have the hours, but also plenty of times you will need to manage one or more other cleaner or other helper of come sort, when resetting multiple places so will need management skills, ability to have a calender, coordinate, be reliable and have good communication.
Again wish could pay more but also we could find lots of volunteers for less money as again this is paying straight to you for 20/hr.
And for the right candidate there is more money in the future to also help manage events or other ideas to use properties to make money.
