Job Description:
EMT administers life support care and transportation to patients in pre-hospital, intra-facility and inter-facility settings as authorized and directed by the Manager of Paramedicine Services and the Operational Medical Director.
Performs care appropriate to the patient population served, within scope of practice, and meeting daily routine patient care needs.
Always focused on quality of care and customer service
Qualifications/Education/Licensure:
High school diploma or GED.
Preferred Education: Associates Degree
Preferred Experience: Pre-hospital or inter-facility transport experience
Virginia EMT certification.
American Heart Association Healthcare Provider CPR.
VAVRS or VDFP EVOC.
Class II
FEMA ICS 100, 200, and 700.
PHTLS within the first year of employment.
AMLS within the first year of employment.
Hazardous Materials Awareness required within the first year of employment.
Needs to be completed prior to the end of the orientation period and before being released to drive solo:
Transfer, Stair, and Gait Training
Fall prevention training
Bed Mobility
