Student Activities Event Staff will assist in the execution of the events found on the Student Activities calendar.
This will primarily involve working at assigned events, evaluating current events and analyzing how to improve them, and promoting various events throughout the week.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities 1.
Responsible for ensuring that all Student Activities events operate effectively and efficiently, while assessing event and attendee needs and implementing effective solutions.
2.
Ensure event set-up, decorating, production tasks, and tear down are completed satisfactorily for various Student Activities events, including, but not limited to: Movie Nights, concerts, Block Party, Coffeehouse, art expos and more.
3.
Responsible for manning security, food, hosting, etc.
at Student Activities events as needed.
4.
Assist in the maintenance and adherence of policies and procedures during events at Student Activities Events, ensuring compliance with University policies.
5.
Responsible to assist with the promotion of Student Activities programming and events.
6.
Administer and collect surveys at events and contribute to post-event evaluations for program improvement and future planning and execution.
7.
Attend all required Student Activities trainings and meetings.
8.
Regularly assist with events and operations during evening, nights or weekend hours.
9.
Perform all other tasks assigned by the Coordinator of Special Events.
10.
Works effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering LU’s mission.
Additional information may be found here Qualifications, Credentials, and Competencies Must be a current Liberty University student, able to work up to 18 hours per week, available to work a variety of different shifts (weekends, early morning, afternoon, late night).
Experience in customer service, event planning or management, and MS Office programs preferred.
Effective communication both verbally and in writing.
Ability to intuitively reason, analyze information and events, and apply judgment in order to solve problems of both a routine and complex nature.
Excellent computer and organizational skills.
Regularly lift 50 or fewer pounds.
