Adjuncts are essential to Liberty University’s mission of Training Champions for Christ.
It is expected that an adjunct member models a personal commitment to the goals and values of Liberty University, engage in an active commitment to, and experience of, personal spiritual formation within a biblically informed Christian worldview.
Adjuncts should view their teaching, engagement with students, and scholarship as a means to a significant educational end.
They should strive to employ a variety of techniques for the development of good learning conditions, view each student as a unique individual, and insofar as it is possible, provide for individual differences, abilities, and interests.
JOB SUMMARY
Residential Adjunct Faculty for Family and Consumer Sciences Department.
Teach courses in Family and Consumer Sciences.
FACS teaching areas include Family and Child Development, Fashion Design, Fashion Merchandising, Interior Design, Event Planning, and Professional and Creative Industries.
Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment and discretion while performing the duties required of an instructor.
This is a part-time, non-benefited, on campus position.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Teach course materials and maintain good class discipline.
Ability to use Canvas to record attendance and post student grades in a timely fashion.
Participate in University retention events and attend department faculty meetings.
Mentor FACS students in discipline Support the College of Arts and Sciences and University initiatives.
Strictly adheres to Liberty University policies, representing the University in an exemplary manner.
Works effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering LU’s mission.
Minimum Qualifications : Masters with 18 graduate hours in the FACS discipline taught or related areas.
Preferred Qualifications: Doctoral degree in the FACS discipline taught, or related areas, with teaching experience.
