POSITION SUMMARY
To provide leadership and guidance to the school staff in implementing a comprehensive instructional reading program.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Works in cooperation with the individual school division staff to develop and implement a comprehensive school plan for literacy instruction.
Provides leadership and guidance to the school staff in matters related to reading instruction to include conducting professional development and implementing division initiatives.
Serves as a model for instructional and professional excellence.
Meets with and works with the division level Title I Literacy Coach to prepare for training to be delivered to teachers, leads PALS building level training and oversees PALS assessments.
Oversees the Title I budget with direction/guidance from the Principal/Building Administrator.
Inventory the Title I materials/supplies and maintains federal documentation for building Title I program.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Candidate must possess a Virginia teacher license and a Masters Degree with a reading specialist endorsement.

Candidate must possess leadership and personal characteristics necessary for working effectively with students, parents, and staff.
