```Duties```
Our small-but-busy law firm is looking for a legal assistant to work in our office in Downtown Lynchburg, VA.
Our firm has been representing injured Virginians for over 37 years in personal injury claims, consumer warranty claims, workers compensation claims, automobile accidents, and medical malpractice lawsuits.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the attorney in preparing, filing, and managing legal documents and calendars
- Discuss case details and provide updates to clients and the attorney
- Conduct basic research
- Administrative tasks such as answering phones, preparing mailings, scheduling appointments, documenting information from potential and current clients
Skills:
- Excellent phone/email etiquette
- Sensitivity and discretion in handling private information
- Strong organizational skills and an ability to multitask
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a deadline-oriented environment
- Good writing skills
- A willingness to listen and learn
- Experience in using Microsoft Office suite
- Experience in Lexis-Nexis, Westlaw, and PACER is a plus but NOT required
- Paralegal certificate is a plus but NOT required
