The Research Assistant will assist the Dean or a Faculty member of the Law School with various projects by utilizing library and internet resources to research topics and then summarize the findings.
This position involves in-depth legal research and writing projects assigned by the Dean or a Faculty member.
The Research Assistant for the Center for Legal Writing assists the Director of the Center with mentoring law students in their legal writing.
The Research Assistant’s role includes opportunities to be mentored in legal writing by the Director.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Review students’ legal writing and provide them written feedback Meet with individual students to help them improve their legal writing Assist with legal-writing workshops and labs QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALS Education and Experience At least one year of law school Ranked in top 25% of class At least B+ average in Lawyering Skills courses Communication and Comprehension Desire to mentor other students in legal writing.
Articulate and effective written and oral communication.
Collegiality and respectfulness to supervisor and mentees.
