*Position Description:* The Compliance Manager at Rockbridge Area Community Services plays a crucial role in ensuring the organization's adherence to all applicable laws, regulations, and policies.
They establish compliance with the DBHDS Performance Contract, DBHDS Licensing Regulations, DBHDS Human Rights Regulations, HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, insurance payor requirements, and the Code of Virginia.
The Compliance Manager promotes quality improvement by developing the Continuous Quality Improvement Plan and oversees risk management activities to identify and address risks to the agency, its staff, clients, and assets.
The Compliance Manager ensures the agency's workforce is adequately informed and trained through comprehensive training, real-time consultation, and written resources, covering topics such as patient privacy, human rights, incident reporting, emergency preparedness, business ethics, and the prevention of fraud, waste, and abuse.
The Compliance Manager directly supervises the Quality Improvement Specialist and Continuous Quality Improvement Technician, managing their implementation of the agency's Continuous Quality Improvement and Risk Management Plans.
This includes facilitating internal audits, inspections, assessments, and investigations to ensure agency compliance.
The Compliance Manager also collaborates with external auditors and coordinates the agency's response to audits, inspections, and investigations by regulators.
In cases where deficiencies in agency performance, risk management, or compliance are identified, the Compliance Manager supports program managers in developing, implementing, and tracking corrective action plans.
Additionally, the Compliance Manager supervises the Medical Records Coordinator and oversees the operations of the Medical Records Department.
Their responsibilities encompass ensuring compliance with relevant regulations such as HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, FERPA, and state laws governing patient privacy.
Working alongside the Medical Records Coordinator, the Compliance Manager ensures the confidentiality and privacy of protected health information while facilitating client access to records and authorized information exchange.
*Qualifications:* Must possess at least a bachelor’s degree in a healthcare, social service, public administration, or business administration field of study and 3-7 years’ experience in managing the compliance activities of a healthcare, social service, government or non-profit organization.
Must possess supervisory experience.
Must possess or obtain a compliance certification (CHC, CCEP, CFE, CHPC or equivalent) within 18 months of assuming the position.
