Position Summary
Performs difficult paraprofessional work in assisting the Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney with legal and administrative tasks; does related work as required.
Work is performed under general supervision.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
* Provides customer service by answering the phone, responding to emails and assisting walk in public inquiries from our front desk area.
* Prepares correspondence, subpoenas, and gathers other legal documents such as reports, body warn camera footage, etc.
so that the attorney will have efficient information to prosecute cases.
* Performs other related job duties and task as assigned in a fast-paced work environment.
* Provide support to other office staff as needed.
*Qualifications*
Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice *or *equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
* Knowledge of legal office practices, procedures, and techniques a plus.
* Knowledge of legal terminology and spelling a plus
* Skill in the use of computers and software applications related to the essential functions of the job.
* Ability to maintain complex office and legal records.
* Ability to maintain confidentiality of a wide variety of information.
* Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other agencies, departments, individuals, and the public along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
