Job Duties
The Deputy Clerk (Grade 9) is assigned operation responsibilities in a high volume, fast paced office with frequent deadlines.
Ensures courts instructions are executed and legal documents prepared with accuracy and in accordance with the state and local policies and procedure.
Must provide excellent customer service in person and by phone.
Assist and back-up other staff when needed.
Process all cases within the jurisdiction of the J&DR Court for pre and post court purposes.
To include case entry, updating, scheduling and issuance of service to parties.
Receipts payments, aids the judges in the courtroom when needed and updates paperwork after court proceedings, ensuring post court requirements regarding assessment fines and costs and disposition notices are met.
Position requires meeting frequent deadlines in accordance with statutory requirements; must be able to multitask and assume additional responsibilities as assigned by management.
Must be able to lift 15 lbs.
occasionally, bending and stooping for filing purposes.
Training and work-related education provided.
Minimum Qualifications
Most competitive applicants will have court experience, legal and judicial knowledge, and will demonstrate competence in the area of responsibility as well as automated financial and records management systems and personal computers.
Must be detail – oriented and have strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word is required.
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Additional Considerations
College or business school courses are preferred.
