Job Duties
The Deputy Clerk (Grade 8) position is assigned operational responsibilities in a high volume, fast paced office with frequent deadlines.
Ensures courts instructions are executed and legal documents prepared with accuracy and in accordance with state and local policies and procedures.
Must provide excellent customer service in person and by phone.
Assist and back-up other staff when needed.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities –
Duties include preparing detailed court documents in accordance with established guidelines, automated case management system data entry, scheduling matters for court, preparing correspondence, filing court documents and daily docket preparation.
Additional responsibilities include answering phones, assisting customers at the counter, assessing fines and costs, and receipting payments.
Must be able to multi-task, meet frequent deadlines and assume additional responsibilities as assigned by management.
Will eventually be cross-trained within the office.
Minimum Qualifications
High School degree or equivalent required.
Most competitive applicants will be detail-oriented, highly accurate, excellent at follow-up and juggling competing priorities in a fast-paced office, able to work well with others in an office environment with frequent deadlines and have considerable court, business or office related experience.
Applicants should be highly organized and possess significant knowledge, skills and abilities in time and performance management.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and advance knowledge of office automation systems and computer software required.
Court experience and experience handling money preferred.
This is a team-oriented effort; therefore, applicant must be willing to perform their assigned duties and those of others if necessary.
