edu Recruitment Type: General Public - G Job Duties The Assistant Director of Enrollment Engagement plays a vital role overseeing engagement with and serving as a resource and guide to prospective cadets, applicants, and their families.
This position ensures high-quality service allowing prospective cadets to successfully navigate the admissions and onboarding process from inquiry through matriculation by employing a holistic model of care and using the case management approach to new cadet admissions.
The Assistant Director of Enrollment Engagement serves as the primary point of contact for a prospective cadet – decreasing fragmentation of services and providing quality care across a continuum of admission and enrollment requirements.
The Assistant Director of Enrollment Engagement keeps prospective cadets engaged about VMI from the first point of contact through matriculation.
The Assistant Director of Enrollment Engagement collaborates with Financial Aid, Admissions, marketing, and other Institute areas to remove barriers to prospective cadet enrollment.
The Assistant Director of Enrollment Engagement is not expected to be an all-inclusive content matter expert; however, they will have expertise in connecting with post-wide experts that helps create a cadet-friendly admissions experience.
This position reports to and works closely with the Deputy Director of Enrollment Marketing and Engagement within VMI’s CRM to create the ultimate prospective new cadet experience and efficient onboarding communications and processes.
The Assistant Director of Enrollment Engagement will: • Oversee all communications for prospective students and applicants interested in all VMI majors, as well as commissioning and non-commissioning tracks, and provide guidance and direction when needed.
• Support prospects from the moment of first inquiry, working to keep VMI top of mind from inquiry through to matriculation.
• Monitor prospective cadet and applicant progress throughout the admission process.
• Creation of informative communications in VMI’s CRM to specific audiences within the enrollment funnel.
• Oversee all prospective cadet events and correspondences (aside from Open House).
• Respond to all questions/inquiries, providing information about VMI majors, ROTC program, and implementing a strategic, proactive communication plan that drives prospective cadets to complete each next step in the admissions process.
Minimum Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or a related field or a combination of equivalent education and experience (or any equivalent combination of training and/or experience).
• Proficient working knowledge of internet applications and PC-based software (e.
g.
Microsoft Office Suite, Student Information Systems (SIS), etc.
); preferably those currently utilized by VMI.
• Demonstrated experience working with diverse populations.
• Strong interpersonal skills to help engage, provide support to, and motivate students and excellent customer service skills, including the ability to effectively follow up and follow through is a must.
• Effective oral, listening, and written communication skills.
• Effective problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Demonstrate the ability to work effectively both independently as well as part of a team and possess a desire to learn and grow as professional needs arise.
• Valid driver’s license and use of personal automobile.
