We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Project Specialist.
This role is based in our pipe fittings manufacturing facility in Lynchburg, VA and reports to the Engineering Manager.
Job Summary
We are looking for a dynamic Project Specialist to join our Plant Engineering team.
The Project Specialist will aid in the implementation of assigned plant engineering projects, including facilities maintenance and renovations, as well as tooling and equipment replacements and installation.
The project Specialist will manage project resources, timelines and costs to ensure projects are completed on time and can achieve the defined performance objectives while maintaining the specified budget.
Principal Responsibilities
• Management of Change (MOC) generation.
• Initiate and manage Plant Engineering projects as assigned.
• Prepare Project Proposals and Scope.
Generate vendor RFQ’s
• Navigate the Capital Expenditure (CapEx) process and associated activities.
• Liaise with external vendors to ensure project contract requirements are met.
• Participate in Safety and Sustainability programs as required.
• Identify critical obstacles and make accurate technical decisions to overcome issues.
• Contact suppliers for pricing, specifications, features and samples.
• Track and report on progress of project to management team.
• Manage numerous projects concurrently while meeting target dates.
• Create work instructions where applicable.
• Continuous monitoring of project risk, and mitigation as appropriate.
• Work with Manufacturing Excellence team to promote continuous improvement projects.
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & experience
• Completion of a degree in engineering or other related field.
• Proven experience in a plastic manufacturing environment a plus.
• At least 2 years’ experience in a project management role preferred.
• Experience in 3D model design using CAD/CAM software.
• Proficiency with MS Office and related software.
• Experience dealing with cross functional teams is an asset.
TRAVEL:
