We are seeking a School-Based ased Outpatient Therapist (LPC, LMFT, LCSW, LMHP-R, or LMHP-S) to provide counseling services to students in the Roanoke public school system.
School-Based Outpatient Therapists have the option to work under a 10 month contract or a 12 month contract.
Strategic Therapy Associates helps clients resolve mental health issues that are putting them in an at-risk status, moving them toward positive change and self-sufficiency.
We use and teach family systems interventions in our work with families.

Clinical supervision toward professional licensure (LCSW, LPC and/or LMFT)
Responsibilities and Duties:
Carry a caseload of outpatient therapy clients, providing mental health counseling services to students in a school-based setting.
Overseeing referrals, completing assessments, and working closely with case managers, school personnel, and guardians.
Empower clients to resolve the issues that can lead to out-of-school placements, or that may result in institutionalization if not effectively remedied via lesser restrictive measures.
Establish rapport quickly and employ creative, appropriate therapeutic techniques to best meet the needs of the individual client.
Complete the required clinical documentation.
Outside of the school year, outpatient services may be provided in an office-based setting and caseload may also include other service types such as crisis intervention, in-home family therapy, and clinical assessments.

Required Education and Qualification:
Previous work experience in mental health settings; previous work experience in community-based mental health settings is preferred.
Master's degree in human services related area (i.
e.
professional counseling, marriage & family therapy, social work).
If not a licensed professional, must have the ability to successfully register as a Resident in Counseling (LMHP-R) or a Supervisee in Social Work (LMHP-S) with the Virginia Board of Health Professions.

*Conditions apply, and licensure supervision is offered to masters-level staff at Strategic working in the intensive in-home program and is based on supervisor availability and after a period of employment (as determined by the director) in which the potential "resident" has been observed in clinical skill and in interactions in regular clinical supervision.
