Position Summary
The Health Information Coordinator is responsible for monitoring incoming letters/dictations within MModal, processing record requests, logging and processing disability forms and helping with other health information administrative needs.
Primary Functions & Accountabilities
Assist with processing requests for protected health information.
Assist with logging in and processing disability forms.
Receive/forward telephone calls from patients, attorneys, insurance companies and rehab workers regarding requests to include, but not limited to, for release of protected health information, letters and disability matters.
Assist with monitoring /exporting/troubleshooting MModal software for incoming dictation/letters.
Monitor Medical Records Work Queue.
Monitor In Basket for My Chart requests.
Transcribe/compose letters for patients per providers/ team members requests.
Empty providers' "out" boxes (AM&PM); distribute information to appropriate team members throughout the office daily.
Fax all outgoing correspondence/dictation and letters as required.
Assist providers with any personal correspondence.
Secondary Functions and Accountabilities

Backup for Health Information Disability Coordinator/Scanning Coordinator/Medical Records/Legal/Lead as necessary.
