Job Description Overview The Restorative Aide assists in implementing patient care programs designed to maintain or restore physical functions minimize or prevent disability and assist patients in reaching their maximum performance levels under the supervision of rehab services professional staff.
Performs a variety of duties in assisting rehab services staff with departmental operational procedures and the transportation and treatment of patients.
Responsibilities 100% accuracy with documentation via peer review.
Assists and encourages patients to participate in the restorative program.
Coaches customer service behaviors.
Coaches quality patient care.
Completes continuing education hours.
Conveys information to patients in a clear precise manner.
Conveys information to staff in a clear precise manner.
Creates and maintains a personal learning plan to benefit business unit/discipline growth.
Demonstrates attributes of a successful co-worker.
Demonstrates success with conflict resolution and involves Management when necessary.
Develops communication channels with medical staff.
Independently expedites the therapists and assistants.
Maintains required competencies in practice area (Physical Therapy Occupational Therapy Speech and Therapeutic Recreation).
Meets interdepartmental scheduling needs and assists where needed.
Meets productivity requirements.
Meets sick time and departmental TAC requirements.
Meets the state mandated hours of continuing education each year.
Organizes and assists aide staff in completing restorative aide competencies and other rehab aide competencies.
Other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
Participates in multidisciplinary interaction.
Perceives patient's reaction to treatment and responds accordingly.
Progresses patients as indicated per patient status under the supervision of licensed staff.
Regularly attends and participates in the restorative aide committee meetings.
Rotates to different practice areas within business unit.
Secures two forms of patient identification before transporting or treating the patient.
Speaks highly of co-workers and consistently demonstrates a professional demeanor.

Qualifications Required Education: High school graduate or equivalent for permanent staff Certification as Nursing Assistant from accredited program and State License On the job training Preferred Experience: General therapy, office and audio-visual equipment used Required Certifications and Licensures: CNA.
Hold a current, active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS) course completion card.
Effective April 1, 2024, candidates seeking employment in this role at Centra must possess a valid and current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS Provider or AHA BLS Instructor) course completion card.
Proof of certification will be mandatory prior to commencing employment.
Both AHA and RQI cards are acceptable forms of certification.
