Starting a band. (Lynchburg)

I am interested in starting a band.
I can play guitar, but am able to and open to playing other instruments depending on the responses I get here.
I would like to eventually start gigging locally and perform crowd-pleasing songs from the 60's-80's; however, I would be willing to play some music outside of that range.
