We are looking for a Mortgage Originator to serve members with Real Estate Sales.

This role will support external member experience by providing financial mortgage lending knowledge and services to members of Member One FCU.

Job Summary: This position evaluates mortgage applications, makes credit decisions on loans considering the character, capacity, and collateral of each member who is in good standing with the credit union.

Originates real estate loans by conducting member interviews, researching background information, analyzing current credit reports and processing applications.
May meet with members personally, by telephone and/or electronically for interviewing, financial counseling, loan disbursement, and decision explanations.
Assists with the coordination of loan administration including monthly, quarterly and annual reporting.
Develops and maintains business relationships with realtors, builders, financial professionals, attorneys, and real estate related vendors.
Ensures compliance with Federal, State, and regulatory guidelines and procedures.
Assist management in reporting annually on HMDA.
Assists with training of personnel on real estate related promotions/topics.
Assists management and marketing personnel in promoting real estate products and services.
Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of members and co-workers.
Must have detailed knowledge of credit scoring, credit reporting, loan alternatives in financing, cross selling, as well as real estate loan processing and disbursement.
Responsible for keeping up to date on current real estate lending procedures and rates, as well as program and product knowledge in the secondary market.
Must insure the integrity and privacy of all information regarding members’ accounts.
Maintains an acceptable level of delinquency for dollars loaned for real estate as set forth by the Board of Directors and management.
Provide coverage at the front desk as needed in the Real Estate Center.
Promote additional credit union products and services that will enhance member value in the credit union.
Actively demonstrates and supports Internal and External Service Standards as established by the credit union.
Occasionally may be assigned other duties that support the credit union’s Mission and Vision Statements.
Meets with members and potential members at any Member One Branch location.
Weekend, and after-hours availability for realtor and member calls for home loan questions.
Actively market to Member One Branches on site and assist Business Development in developing new sources of business.
Market to Member One Database of clients.
Comply with all federal regulations, credit union policies and procedures, including Bank Secrecy and the USA Patriot Act.
Comply with all fair lending laws and the prohibitions enumerated in the credit union’s lending policy.
Required Education and Experience: High School diploma required B.

S.
in Finance or business related degree preferred.
Previous mortgage lending experience preferred.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Understanding of financial products and services.
NMLS registered and subject to a criminal background check.
Ability to correctly analyze and interpret financial information.
Ability to resolve difficult situations through education and counseling.
Current working knowledge of personal computers and software applications.
Ability to deal tactfully, effectively, and professionally with members, potential members and coworkers.
