GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Responsible for safely and efficiently operating lowboy tractor trailers moving heavy construction equipment ranging from skids to large loaders, rollers, and pavers.
This position is ideal for someone who has experience moving construction equipment, and has a good working knowledge of current DOT regulations and permitting requirements.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Drives truck to transport material/equipment to and from specified destinations.
Positions blocks, tie roper and other devices to secure load during transit.
Load and unload trucks.
Maintains and checks truck s equipment and supplies to assure roadworthiness.
Notifies supervisor of currently needed or anticipated repairs.
Perform minor emergency roadside repairs.
Check vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine or a vehicle to exact positions.
The ability to see details at a distance.
The ability to coordinate two or more limbs (for example, two arms, two legs, or one leg and one arm) while sitting, standing, or lying down.
It does not involve performing the activities while the whole body is in motion.
The ability to judge which of several objects is closer or farther away from you, or to judge the distance between you and an object.
The ability to choose quickly between two or more movements in response to two or more different signals (lights, sounds, pictures).
It includes the speed with which the correct response is started with the hand, foot, or other body part.
The ability to time your movements or the movement of a piece of equipment in anticipation of changes in the speed and/or direction of a moving object or scene.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of 3 years' experience in moving heavy construction equipment using lowboy tractor trailer
A valid Class A CDL
Must have an acceptable driving record and a valid DOT physical
Must have a strong safety record
Must successfully pass pre-employment (post offer) drug screen and background check.
