Position Description:
Procurement is to optimally employ cost reduction and long-term strategic planning techniques to manage outgoing costs.
With today’s procurement challenges, we need to focus on cost reduction and resilient sourcing but also creatively address the other challenges such as logistics, labor, raw material, pandemics, force majeures and shortages.
The 80/20 rule needs to be applied to all suppliers, component parts and sourcing locations.
Resilient, and redundant sourcing base with the most cost effective strategic vendor partnerships for our 80/20 vendors and component parts.
Key Responsibilities:
Daily interaction regarding pricing, delivery (support Material Planning & Logistics) and quality
Daily conflict resolution
Onboarding suppliers; Gather documentation, assure completion and submission to corporate for vendor number assignment
Manage Sample approval process
Manage Production Trial run process
Issue RFQ’s, review, analyze and determine next steps and parties that need to be part of approval process
Assist with Risk Analysis
Assist with contract negotiation – payment terms, delivery, VA/VE or productivity clauses, material matrixes, etc.
Annual VA/VE review with all key suppliers
Develop cost reduction and supplier consolidation ideas
Assist with resolution on supplier quality issues
Work with supplier quality engineer to onboard suppliers to ASL
Review rejected invoices – check against info records, history, SAP purchases, quotes, and other plant pricing
Work closely with plant engineering to develop cost savings ideas and product improvement ideas
Create, maintain and update all material, vendor and part (info) records
Create, maintain and update CMS Projects
Create, manage and complete cost savings projects for various product lines
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required
2+ years of experience in a related field; Supply Chain experience required
Strong analytical skills, math proficiencies
Microsoft Office knowledge, specifically Excel (vlookups, pivot tables, spreadsheets) and manipulate data
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong time management, multi-tasking skills
Self-starter; Proactive and intrinsically motivated
Travel:
20% travel to annual convention(s), suppliers, or other Modine plants
