Sewer Industrial Fabric Technician

The Fabric Technician is accountable for detailed, on-time, accurate fabric panels.
Primary roles include the welding and sewing of fabric panels.
The Fabric Technician reports to the Fabric Manager.
*Responsibilities:* * Utilize fabric welding equipment to join or weld two or more pieces of fabric together creating an element resistant seal * Inspecting, repairing, and maintaining a variety of different fabrics * Must possess strong technical knowledge of fabrics, color selection, and various methods of applying fabric treatments.
* Operates specialized cutting machines to cut fabric into specific shapes and sizes * Inspects fabrics for quality assurance purposes, ensuring that fabrics meet customer specifications and are free from defects.
* Must be knowledgeable in the properties of various fabrics and their potential for defects.
*Skills and Competencies to Have* * Knowledge of fabrics and textiles * Ability to assess and test fabrics for durability and wear * Ability to identify fabric defects and repair them * Ability to operate a cutting machine * Knowledge of fabric construction techniques * Ability to use pattern-making equipment * Understanding of production schedules and deadlines * Ability to maintain a safe and clean work environment * Ability to follow detailed instructions * Excellent communication skills * Problem-solving skills * Positive attitude * Team player * Excellent organization and time management skills * Ability to work overtime as needed * Prior experience working with industrial fabric *Physical Requirements:* * Working conditions are industry standard for light manufacturing operations * Individuals may be required to sit or stand * Requires walking primarily on a level surface for periodically throughout the workday * Reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist or lifting as required to file documents or store materials throughout the workday * May include lifting, up to 50 pounds.
