The Biology Department at the University of Lynchburg invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position in anatomy and physiology at the Assistant or Associate Professor level beginning in the 2024-2025 academic year.
We seek an individual with exceptional potential as a teacher and scholar who can contribute to our undergraduate programs and complement existing departmental strengths with knowledge of vertebrate anatomy and physiology.
The ideal candidate will have experience with using and dissecting cadavers.

Specific Job Duties:
Teaching responsibilities include courses in anatomy and physiology, comparative vertebrate anatomy and physiology, introductory biology for majors, and possibly upper-level courses related to their specialty.
Collaborating with colleagues on curriculum development, supervising student research projects, service to the University and community, and engaging in scholarly activity.

Teaching Load:
Normal teaching load is 12 contact hours per semester (which typically equates to two lecture+lab courses).
Physical Demands:
Prolonged periods standing or sitting at a desk.
Required Qualifications/Education:
A PhD in biology, anatomy, or related field (with experience in anatomy and physiology) is required by the start date.
Previous teaching experience is desired.
A primary interest in teaching and mentoring undergraduate research at a liberal arts institution is a must.
