Working independently and exercising good judgment and discretion, the Library Systems and Technology Student Assistant position supports the Library Systems Administrator.
This employee works closely with the Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS) and other technologies housed within the Jerry Falwell Library.
This is a non-benefited position with 12-18 hours of work expected each week.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
1.
Provide basic computer troubleshooting.
2.
Perform duties related to the ASRS including bin auditing, shifting, picking, and resizing items.
3.
Develop content that can be applied to various library technologies such as digital signage, media wall, and interactive touchscreens.
4.
Demonstrates the ability to work in and with diverse populations, supporting an equitable and inclusive environment.
5.
Remains abreast of existing and emerging technologies, processes, products, services and leading industry performance benchmarks.
6.
Works effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering LU’s mission.
Qualifications, Credentials, and Competencies
Required to be a current residential or online student.
Well-developed communications skills.
Strong technology skills and experience.
Ability to develop apps and knowledge of computer languages preferred.
