Job Summary
To provide a well organized, smoothly functioning class environment in which students can take full advantage of the instructional program and available resource materials.
Essential Duties
Prepares for classroom activities under the supervision of a licensed teacher.
Works with small groups of students to reinforce material initially introduced by the teacher.
Assists individual children in need of special attention.
Performs classroom clerical duties.
Grade independent study, enrichment work, and remedial work set up by the teacher.
Assists teacher with non-instructional classroom duties such as snack time, bathroom time, lunchroom, and activity periods.
Set up audio-visual equipment and other instructional material.
Assist in reviewing student work turned in to be reviewed and checked.
Assist in drill work.
Assists with reading and storytelling.
Participate in an in-service training program.
Assists teacher in duties relating to the supervision of playground, cafeteria, and bus loading activities.
Performs such other duties and assumes such other responsibilities as the Principal may assign.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities Required)
Must be a high school graduate and demonstrated an aptitude for the work to be performed.
