POSITION SUMMARY
Works collaboratively with special education and classroom teachers, as well as other professionals, to support the academic and social/emotional growth of students, including IEP goals, objectives, and/or accommodations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Works with individual or small groups of students to reinforce learning objectives and standards.
Assists with small group learning activities.
Provides instructional support during online learning.
Assists with the development of students’ social/emotional skills.
Supports students in learning classroom/school routines and procedures.
Provides supervision and a safe environment for students during structured and unstructured times such as lunch, recess, transitions, loading/unloading of buses and any other assigned duties.
Maintains a positive, professional, solution-focused demeanor at all times.
Maintains confidentiality.
Willingness to substitute or perform duties as requested.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or GED.
Minimum of sixty (60) credit hours from an accredited post-secondary institution or career technical facility; or an Associate’s Degree; or successfully completed the ParaPro assessment.
Some experience in working with children.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
This position requires periods of standing; some walking, moving, climbing, carrying, bending, kneeling, crawling,reaching, handling, pushing, and pulling.
Ability to lift 25 lbs.
