BWXT is currently seeking an Assembly Tech for its Lynchburg, VA location! Job Description/Duties: Assembles finished components required to complete assemblies of varied designs in accordance with application process procedures, process routings, design drawings, and other applicable instructions.
Assembles, cleans, and provides support to intermediate assembly and in-process assembly on components throughout the NOG-L facility.
Cleans, packages, and ships/stores final assemblies.
Job Qualifications/Requirements: A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required.
(3) years of manufacturing; OR (2) years of manufacturing and (1) year of college (or formal education); OR (1) year of manufacturing and (2) years of college (or formal education); OR a 4-year Bachelor's Degree; OR (5) years of general work experience is required.
Must be willing to be formally trained to operate overhead, jib, and mobile cranes ranging in capacity from 1 to 150 tons.
Must be willing to be formally trained to operate fork lifts, work in confined spaces and use Fall-Protection Equipment.
Must be able to work from elevated platforms/heights in excess of 50 feet and be able to climb ladders.
Assembly and/or mechanical experience highly preferred.
Must possess good memory, perform number computations using basic shop mathematics, have good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity, and have good physical stamina.
Must be able to comprehend and use computer generated detailed work instructions, perform computer training modules, perform email correspondence, and data entry in computer generated records.
Must be able to understand and use technical drawings.
Must have good mechanical ability and have a working knowledge of using standard measuring gages and devices.
Must be able to read and comprehend detailed instructions, correspondence, and memos.
Must be able to demonstrate superior written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills and problem-solving skills.
Must be a US Citizen with no dual citizenship.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.
S.
Department of Energy (DOE) clearance.
The hourly rate for this position in Virginia (US-VA) is expected to be $31.
36 per hour.
The hourly rate offered is based on local job market factors and other objective business considerations.
Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits.
Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment.
